Green Growth featured in SEPIE Newsletter No. 60 for its role in promoting the circular economy in construction

Beatriz Oliete, Head of International Projects at the Fundación Laboral de la Construcción, highlights in an interview the national and international achievements of the ‘Green Growth’ project in vocational education and sustainability.

The Spanish Service for the Internationalisation of Education (SEPIE) has featured the European project ‘Green Growth’ prominently in its Newsletter No. 60, through an interview with Beatriz Oliete, Head of International Projects at the Fundación Laboral de la Construcción. The interview reviews the project’s main milestones, which have been recognised both nationally and internationally for integrating the circular economy into vocational education and training (VET) in the construction sector.

Oliete emphasises that the materials developed by ‘Green Growth’ are already being used in the 55 training centres of the Fundación across Spain. In addition, thanks to its recognition by UNESCO-UNEVOC as an Innovation and Learning Practice, these resources are also being shared internationally, expanding their impact beyond national borders.

The project has also been acknowledged by the Spanish Ministry of Education and Vocational Training as an initiative of ‘particular interest for VET’, and by the National VET Team of Spain, coordinated by SEPIE, for its contribution to the fight against climate change and environmental protection.

Among the project’s key outcomes are a handbook on circular economy applied to construction, an online course for trainers, a mobile app for workers and SMEs, and a roadmap for the adoption of the circular economy in VET centres.
